| Mission Statement
The mission of Strengthening The Black Family, Incorporated
is to improve the quality of life for families in Wake County
and beyond with special emphasis on black families. The organization
seeks to ensure the survival and strengthening of black families
while still underscoring those traditional values, which serve
to strengthen all families.
To achieve this mission, Strengthening The Black
Family, Incorporated focuses on the development of programs,
partnerships, and interdisciplinary networks, the identification
and securing of resources which will lead to greater economic,
health, employment, and educational opportunities for all
families.

Background
Founded in 1980, incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization based in Wake County, North Carolina
in 1987, Strengthening The Black Family, Incorporated
is a unique preeminent coalition comprised of more
than forty (40) member organizations. From its founding
to the present, the vision of the corporation has
been to bring about postive changes in the community
with specific emphasis on black families in Wake County.

Volunteer as a trainer in the
Computer Access Center
Help disseminate information on health care to groups and
families in the community
Serve as a tutor/mentor for the Crosby After School Program
Serve on special committees or advisory boards for specific
projects
Serve on the conference planning committee
Support the organization by becoming a member and serving
as a representative on the boards of organizations that are
collaborative partners.
