Strengthening The Black Family Meet Sept. 12 & 13 Here
Participants in the Project SELF Initiative co-sponsored by Strengthening The Black Family, Inc. in Raleigh , Pine Acres Community Center in Fuquay-Varina and Riley Hill Family Life Center in Wendell are slated to attend Strengthening The Black Family Inc.'s 23 rd Annual Conference.
Project SELF Improvement funded by the Kate B Reynolds Charitable Trust has as its goals, helping families in the participant areas increase physical activity and healthy eating and to eliminate tobacco use.
Invitations to the conference were mailed to all of the project's 811 participants.
The conference scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13, 2003 at Carnage Middle School in Raleigh will feature workshops that support the project SELF Improvement goals along with other workshops of interest. Project participants attending will also be able to complete follow-up surveys, receive health screenings, view exhibits and demonstrations and attend breakfast and luncheon sessions.
